Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival | August 29 – September 2
La Baie Park 988 Saint-Louis Street | Gatineau
Watch giant balloons lift off from the festival grounds or take a ride in one and drift over the Ottawa-Gatineau region. After dark, some of the balloons are lit up during night flights!
The festival also hosts live entertainment for kids and adults, including popular and emerging musical acts from Quebec, Canada and beyond. Other family-friendly fun on site includes a carnival amusement park, fireworks, buskers and more.
Horse Lovers’ Weekend | August 31 – September 2

Horse lovers will have reason to celebrate at Upper Canada Village’s Horse Lovers’ weekend. This festival showcases riding, driving and working horses with the help of our Village Interpreters and a variety of community partners. New this year, we are thrilled to announce that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Musical Ride, one of Canada’s most recognized icons, will be making a special appearance on Sunday, September 4, performing intricate formations and drills set to music in the Village fairgrounds!

Latin Sparks Festival | September 7

Tour de Gatineau | September 20 – 22

This will be the most prestigious event in North America for women’s road racing and will be classified as a 1.1 race by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) which is the third highest level beneath the World Tour. This important event for female cyclists in North America will be held as a road race and a time trial, both finishing in front of the iconic British Hotel.
Canada Army Run | September 22

Canada Army Run is unlike any other run in the country. This annual show showcases spectacular and beautiful purebred and household pet cats all vying for the title of Best of Best. There will be door prizes, and a prize for the best decorated cage. Our theme this year is Cats in Outer Space. Vote for your favourite cat in show. There will be a variety of presentations including the popular Parade of Breeds. The show will also feature a variety of vendors to purchase unique cat toys and other cat products and pet-related services.
