Indigenous Experiences – Winterlude Mini Pow Wow | February 2

Experience a mini Pow Wow featuring a Grand Entry or opening ceremony, intertribal dances, and performances by invited drum groups, along with dancers of various styles and ages. Presented by Indigenous Experiences, this event is “mini” due to its shorter duration compared to traditional Pow Wows, which typically span several days. Despite its compact format, the celebration promises to be a spectacular showcase of Indigenous culture.

Taking place at Fletcher Wildlife Garden (865 Prince of Wales Drive, just south of the Experimental Farm roundabout), this 2.5 km hike is a chance to explore a hidden natural gem in the city, connect with nature, and enjoy time with others. The event is open to all ages and fitness levels, with families encouraged to participate. Snow or shine, dress warmly, wear grippy shoes, and bring a headlamp, as they are mandatory. Registration is required on Eventbrite.

African Day on the Hill | February 15

African Day on the Hill 2025 (ADOTH 25) celebrates the heritage, achievements, and contributions of African Canadians while fostering inclusion and cross-cultural understanding. Held at Excentricité on La Cité collégiale campus, this annual event welcomes over 500 attendees, including policymakers, community leaders, and the public, for cultural performances, educational workshops, and dialogues. ADOTH 25 promotes diversity by showcasing African Canadian culture, encourages civic engagement through dialogue with policymakers, empowers youth with leadership opportunities, and strengthens community connections in an inclusive space.

Centretown Cold Plunge | February 14-16

The Centretown Cold Plunge is Ottawa’s boldest winter challenge, hosted by the Centretown BIA at Uncommon in Snider Plaza from February 14–16, 2025. Cheer from designated areas, enjoy hot drinks, live DJs, and family-friendly activities in partnership with Winterlude, or support by donating.
